I will overwhelm 'serious fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for next month's bout.

Ex two time world boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.

"I will seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally famous for his theatrics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a match opportunity.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, targeted UK rival Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest money-making draws, consistently making massive earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would derail the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.

Size Difference

As the two fighters participated in the usual stare-down, with their physical disparity evident, it drove home just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
